Beautiful buttons

Last month when I visited the
Creative Stitches exhibition I
bought a bag of buttons and learned
how to make necklaces with them.
Spent some time this weekend
trying to remember what I learned!
This one is destined to be a birthday gift
but I like it so much I might have to make
another one for keeping!

Finished!

Finally finished the Grand Canyon
themed throw. Here it is bringing
a flavour of summer to the lounge
in time for our Mother's Day party.

Afternoon Tea

Mother's Day fell last Sunday so
nine of the family - including my
mum- gathered for afternoon tea
There were more good things to eat
than this picture shows. This was
just my contribution.
Gifts and cards were also received
(by the mothers) and the house got
a major tidy-up - bit like a mini-
Christmas really!

Sunshine and daffodils

While we were away Spring seems
to have arrived fast! Sunshine and
daffodils everywhere you look.
Here in Brighton where I live
people are already digging out their
flip flops and heading to the beach.

Chinese spoils

Went shopping for fabric while I was
in Hong Kong - used some to
make a birthday gift for a friend- only
3 days after getting back!

Recycled plastic bottles

This addition to the art on display appeared
while we chilled out in Melbourne.
Made from empty plastic bottles this formed
part of an exhibition themed round the topic
of recycling.

Chinese Lanterns

Despite all my best intentions didn't manage to
blog while travelling so now for some catch up!
This photo was part of a lantern display on the
harbourside in Kowloon opposite our hotel
The whole display was spectacular especially at
night when it was all lit up.
