Giant jigsaw

Started to put the blanket together
today - even this little section feels
cosy on my lap as I sew - should be
toasty when it's complete.

All squares are now complete - just the
sewing up to do!

My sister, Siobhan just painted these dolls
with different moods for me to use when
I'm teaching self-esteem to teenage girls.
I love them - think the girls will too.

Sunday in the kitchen

Lots of activity in the kitchen yesterday
First up was Jon's birthday cake. He is
21 today but was heading back to London
last night so we had the cake a day early
Yesterday was also marmalade making
giving the whole house a citrus perfume!

Tried to play pooh-sticks on the bridge
but no big enough sticks nearby.
Our little sticks sank without trace!

Mud mud and even more mud!

Today we went on a very long walk
(7miles) through the mud of Ashdown
Forest- home of Winnie the Pooh.
It was a beautiful day for walking but
Had been raining all week so VERY
MUDDY indeed!

Today has been spent knitting (in between
everything else that had to be done).
Another square for the sunset blanket
completed and a lace weight scarf started -
not enough to photograph yet!
Plus the first of some leg-warmers knitted
with wool from Anny Blatt in France nearly
complete.

Snowy Gingerbread

This snowy gingerbread filled the house
with spicy, gingery, festive smells even
though time pressure defeated the plans
to include it in the Christmas baking
marathon. Tasted even better with
no presents to wrap while eating!
